Where does our water come from?
At the end of last term year 2 was lucky enough to have one of our loved ones Joe come
in to talk to us. He works for icon water and explained where the water
that comes to school and our homes come from.
We saw Cotter Dam being constructed. It only took two minutes to watch yet four years to build!
We learnt they add chlorine and fluoride to the water.
We learnt what happens to water when we have finished using is and it goes down the drain.
Share an interesting fact you know about water in the comments.

Grandparents and Special Friends Morning
We had the most amazing morning celebrating Literacy and Numeracy week with our wonderful visitors.
With our grandparents and special friends in our classroom we had the opportunity to show off our amazing maths skills through a variety of maths games.
It was such a wonderful chance to share our classroom with our loved ones, so we would like to say a huge thank you to all who were able to make it.
What was your highlight of Grandfriends Day?

Author Visit
As part of book week year 2 had a special author visit. Samantha Tidy wrote the book The Day the Bridge was Built.
We learnt many fun facts about the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge including
- it took 8 years to build.
- 4000 people worked on the bridge.
- they tested the strength of the bridge by driving steam locomotives onto the bridge
- a nine year old rode his horse 1000 kilometres on his own to see the opening of the bridge
Samantha inspired us to share our ideas and dreams so one day they can come true.
